What a hunk our Basil is becoming! He is a 40 lb, eight month old youngster who is maturing into a nice young dog. He shouldn't be more than around 45 lbs at maturity, maybe 48 lbs. Basil is a very active and playful pup who is looking for the same in his adoptive family/person. He is very quick to learn and already fluent in basic manners. Basil has become rather reserved with strangers as he's matured, both dog and human. He loves to go places, but is showing some social fear and becomes uncomfortable around dogs he doesn't know. He often accompanies his foster mom to obedience and agility trials and is working on building his confidence. Basil walks well on a leash, is crate trained and has a great recall. He is also a very dedicated retriever and loves to play ball! Basil has been exposed to lots of other dogs, cats, and livestock. He has grown up in a household that includes small children and an infant.
